Since 1998, Datacom has led a “paradigm shift” in the enterprise software industry with a vision that the continued advancement of communication technologies, coupled with the ever-present power of the Internet, would trigger an opportunity for the emergence of new industry leaders. 

The concept: Provide full-featured, easy to use, online enterprise-wide solutions in a centrally hosted environment at a fraction of the cost of client/server systems.

When Datacom was founded, the concept of offering hosted enterprise software was unproven.  Since that time, hosted delivery has become a platform of choice and the Internet has dominated as a delivery mechanism that removes the IT administration and headaches for organizations of all sizes.

Datacom’s products have been developed from the outset utilizing Internet technologies to most effectively take advantage of the Internet’s global communication power.  With their extensive mid-market manufacturing backgrounds, the Datacom team recognized the need for a full-featured solution that provided the mid-market manufacturer with efficient information gathering, with secure access across the  enterprise, and the ability to easily share specific information, on a real-time basis, with their customers and suppliers.

The Corporate goal was and is to fundamentally change the way Enterprise Software was sold, implemented and delivered in order to provide a 100% Web-based, end-to-end, cost effective, user-friendly solution for small- to mid-sized manufacturers.

The result of six years of development and customer testing is a family of business solutions specifically designed to allow small to mid-sized manufacturers to compete more effectively by bringing together all aspects of their real-time business and collaborative information sharing needs into one globally accessible system.

Today

Datacom serves companies in multiple industries in the manufacturing mid-market across North America.  The core of the Datacom’s solutions is a functionally rich ERP solution that provides for efficient information gathering and utilization within an enterprise. This core includes Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Accounting capable of providing for efficient access to real-time information which can be shared across the enterprise and with external partners as desired.

Key to Datacom’s competitive strategy is that all applications are seamlessly integrated, utilizing a common database.  This eliminates the added cost and the age-old problem of contradictory information that results from redundant data entry into disparate systems, and also allows all applications to share real-time data.

Also key to Datacom’s competitive strategy is that all applications are hosted and fully-web-based, and not just web-enabled.  This means that Datacom’s applications can be accessed globally via the Internet without the need for complex, cumbersome and costly client side software additions or intermediary servers.  

Datacom is led by a team of senior executives that have decades of computer and manufacturing experience in both global Fortune 100 and small company environments.  The Company’s senior management is complemented by a middle management team that also has extensive experience within the computer technology and manufacturing environments.

Tomorrow

Datacom’s product evolution will continue to fulfill the original vision of complete front-to-back-office hosted business solutions implemented in a fraction of the time and cost of comparable applications.  The Company will continue to expand its reach, providing complete solutions for under-served niches in the manufacturing mid-market and beyond.
